Overview

marquette entrepreneurship week

The goal of the 94labs Social Cause Hackathon is to bring together aspiring entrepreneurs, business students, designers and developers to build applications for the sponsoring non-profit agencies.

The objective for the teams will be to create an application that will help the agenciesĀ raise awareness, increase donations or improve their current web functionality and efficiency.

TheseĀ applicationsĀ can be developed for web, mobile, or software as a service. The top 3 applications developed will be donated to the non-profits they were created for, and all other teams are encouraged to donate theirs as well.

Registration is open to the public, and we encourage participation from everywhere in Wisconsin to increase collaboration and grow our state’s entrepreneurial community.

Participants are able to register as either a team or an individual, and will be connected with individual registrants to complete a teams skillset if necessary.Ā There is a 5 member maximum per team competing, and no minimum.

All team members are expected to use their personal computers and software to develop their applications and business presentations on. We will provide power sources, internet, work space, food and beverages (at specified times) and a relaxation lounge area.

Teams can develop the apps at their convenience throughout the week. The Olin Engineering room will be available every day as a workspace until midnight, but teams are not required to work there. Food will be provided every evening.

Contestants must attend the kickoff on Sunday, November 13th at 6:00pm to form their teams. They must also present their applications on Thursday, November 17th at 8:00pm in order to be considered for the prizes.

The event will take place at Marquette University – click here for a map.
